Dr. Roberta Gardner graduated from the University of South Carolina-CCC with a degree in Biology. After completing her dental training at the Medical University of South Carolina, she received a Masters Degree in Orthodontics at the University of Tennessee. During her specialty training at UT, Dr. Gardner researched post orthodontic stability of which several articles have been published in the Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. She continues to remain active in academics by maintaining a position as associate professor at the orthodontic residency program at MUSC. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with the residents while keeping current with the latest technology.

Dr. Gardner is a member of several dental associations including the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association and the South Carolina Dental Associations. She is currently the president of the Charleston Association of Orthodontists. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists.

Dr. Gardner and her husband, Jeff, have 2 daughters, Sophie and Lydia. The Gardners are members of First Baptist Church where the girls also attend Coastal Christian Preparatory School. In her free time, Dr. Gardner enjoys practicing yoga and running.
